2010-2014 Statewide Highway & Bridge Construction Schedule

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of August 30 – September 3, 2010.  Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Cole Camp and the city limits of Versailles – Roadway paving has been completed.

   * The contractor will work on shoulders and driveway entrances through late summer. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 65 over the Lake of the Ozarks, just north of Route 83 in Warsaw – Bridge deck repair continues.  Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control.  Lanes have been narrowed to 10.5 feet.  Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2010.

  

Route 65, 1.75 miles south of Route HH to north of Route H in Lincoln – Grading and drainage work to widen the highway to five lanes continues.  Lanes have been narrowed to 10.5 feet.  One lane may be closed during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

 

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw – Widening highway to four lanes continues.  Traffic is not affected at this time.  The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

 

Route 83 at the Big Pomme Bridge over the Truman Reservoir – Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Lanes have been narrowed to 11 feet.  Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2010.

 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 7 over the Osage Arm of the Truman Reservoir, located east of Route KK – Bridge deck repair continues.

   * Temporary traffic lights or flaggers will guide motorists through the work area.

   * Lanes have been narrowed to 11 feet.

   * For Labor Day weekend, the bridge will be open to two-lane traffic beginning Thursday, September 2 through Monday, September 6. The bridge will be back to one lane on Tuesday, September 7.

Completion of the project is scheduled for early fall.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 exit ramp to Route Z, at mile marker 133 – Concrete replacement on the eastbound exit ramp to route Z will take place Tuesday, August 31.  The ramp will be closed to traffic during the work.

 

Southbound Route 63 bridge over Turkey Creek, just south of Route AB – Median crossover work continues. The work is part of a plan to replace the southbound Turkey Creek bridge on Route 63. The median work is expected to be complete by mid-September. Motorists can expect periodic lane closures in both northbound and southbound lanes for short periods as needed during the work. Once the crossovers are complete, the southbound bridge will close and southbound motorists will be redirected onto one northbound lane for approximately 1.25 miles through the work area. The bridge will remain closed during the work for approximately a month and a half. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 South Outer Road, east and west bridges, just west of Route 740 – Bridge replacement continues.  The route is closed to traffic during construction.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete in late September.  Motorists should seek alternate routes.  This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

 

Interstate 70 – Bridge deck sealing in various locations continues through Thursday, Sept. 2.  One lane in each direction will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 63 – Bridge deck sealing in various locations continues through Thursday, Sept. 2.  One lane in each direction will be open to traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Summit Drive and Route AA in Holts Summit – Concrete replacement in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 10.  One eastbound and one westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Business Route 54 at Route O (Second Street) in Fulton – Construction of a new roundabout continues.  Business Route 54 south of Route O, and Route O east of Business 54, are closed to traffic while a concrete box culvert is constructed.  Traffic will be detoured.  Access to area businesses remains available.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete in mid-December.

 

Old Route 54 bridge over Smith Branch, 2 miles north of Auxvasse – Bridge replacement continues.  The bridge is closed to traffic during construction, which will take place through late September.  Motorists should seek alternate routes.  This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

 

Route F between the Miller Creek bridge and Fulton – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 3.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route NN between Route 54 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 3.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 at the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach – Routine bridge inspection is planned for the week of August 30. One westbound lane will be open in the work area.

Route 5 between Route 7 and the Morgan County line – Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, August 31. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 7 between Route 5 and the Laclede County line – Roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route A between Route 54 and the Pulaski County line – Roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 54 and end of state maintenance – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Wednesday, September 1.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route NN between Route 7 and end of state maintenance – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach – Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.  

   * Grading continues from Nichols Road to Route KK.

   * El Terra Lane is closed and motorists should use Swiss Village Road for access.

   * Drainage, erosion control and grading takes place from Route KK to Key Largo.

   * Concrete work continues for the new Route KK roundabout.

No traffic delays can be expected.  This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

 

Route 54 between Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line and the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach – Grading, paving and new bridge construction. 

   * Grading, drainage and asphalt work continues for the Osage Beach Parkway South southern tie-in to the existing Route 54.

   * Eastbound traffic has been switched onto the existing westbound bridge on Route 54 between Route 42 and Bluff Road with two 10-foot lanes in each direction.  This traffic configuration will remain in place through summer 2010.

   * Traffic on Bluff Road is being detoured to Route 54 through Osage Beach Parkway South and Fort Osage Lane to allow for the construction of the new Bluff Road. Detour signs are in place.

   * Traffic delays can be expected as contractor performs work to tie in the Osage Beach Parkway south at the north and south ends.

   * Westbound Route 54 traffic can expect delays as contractor constructs a ramp to provide access from existing westbound Route 54 onto the westbound Grand Glaize Bridge.

This project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 at the Moreau River Bridge, west of Liberty Road – Routine bridge inspection is planned for the week of August 30.  One lane will be open in the work area.

 

Route C at the Moreau River Bridge, east of Hemstreet Road – Routine bridge inspection is planned for the week of August 30.  One lane will be open in the work area.

 

Route D at Old Lohman Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 
Route H bridge over Bois Brule Creek – Bridge hand rail repair will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Daylight Hours/Overnight Hours

Route 50, Missouri Boulevard and Route 179 interchange improvements – Realigning Missouri Boulevard at the U.S. Route 50 and Route 179 interchange in Jefferson City.  Plans include constructing additional turn lanes at various locations within the interchange area.

    * The contractor will blast for the west connector road Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1.  Motorists can expect minor delays, as the contractor plans to stop traffic on Missouri Boulevard and Route 179, during the blasting operations. 

   * Eastbound traffic on Missouri Boulevard can use the new connector to access northbound Route 179.  Motorists traveling northbound on Route 179 can use the new connector to access eastbound Missouri Boulevard.

   * All other access between Route 179 and Missouri Boulevard is still closed to traffic.

   * Additional lane reductions and temporary closures can be expected on Route 179 between Missouri Boulevard and Country Club Drive, including all ramps at the Route 50/Route 179 interchange.

This project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

 

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge – Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment continues.

   * Work is underway on a ramp structure on the north side of the river.

   * The following changes are now in place until spring 2011:

-  The Main Street on ramp to the bridge is closed.

-  Lanes leading up to and crossing the bridge are narrowed.  Motorists will cross the bridge
            using three 11 ft. lanes.

-  A concrete barrier is installed across the bridge to separate lanes of traffic from the
            construction crews and equipment.

-  The shoulder of the bridge, which also currently serves as a pedestrian path, is closed.
             Pedestrians should also note that no shoulder is available on the U.S. Route 54
            westbound/U.S. Route 63 southbound bridge leading into Jefferson City.

-  The speed limit is reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area. 

The project is expected to be complete in late spring 2011.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 at mile marker 113 – Bridge barrier repair in the westbound lanes will take place Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1.  One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route 41 bridge over the Lamine River – Bridge deck repair will take place Monday, August 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route Z between Route K and Route AE – Roadway paving continues through Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 19 and Route E – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 3.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route 63 at the Gasconade River Bridge, west of Route A – Routine bridge inspection is planned for the week of August 30. One lane will be open in the work area.

 

Route V between Route 42 and Route N – Roadway patching and repair will take place Wednesday, September 1 and Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between the Osage River Bridge in Lake Ozark and Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line in Osage Beach – Construction for the new Route 54 Expressway.

   * Construction on the Horseshoe Bend Extension overpass bridge has been completed.

   * Installation of guard rail, signing and lighting on the new Route 54 Expressway continues.

   * Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane between the Osage River Bridge and Business Route 54 near the Baymont Inn. Both eastbound lanes will remain open, but have been shifted over to allow for the construction of the tie-in connection between the new expressway and the existing highway. The speed limit in this section has been reduced to 45 mph. This traffic configuration will remain in place throughout the summer. 

This portion of the project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

 

Route 17 at the Osage River Bridge in Tuscumbia – Contractor is working to demolish the old bridge.  Traffic will temporarily be stopped on Tuesday, August 31 around 8:30 a.m. for approximately 15-20 minutes while blasting takes place.  Motorists should seek an alternate route during that time.

 

Route 42 between the Camden County line and the Maries County line – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route 87 between Route C and the Miller County line – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 5 between Route 52 and the Moniteau County line – Roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route N between Route 52 and Route BB – Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route K at Route E – Roadway patching and repair will take place Wednesday, September 1.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route BB between Route N and Route D – Roadway patching and repair will take place Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Thursday, Sept. 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route 100 approximately five miles west of Route 89 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 89 at the Gasconade River Bridge, east of Route E – Routine bridge inspection is planned for the week of August 30. One lane will be open in the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 north of Route HH at Cedar Creek Bridge – Bridge deck replacement is near completion. The Cedar Creek Bridge is scheduled to open to traffic on Friday, September 3. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

 

Route 52 between Route 65 and Route 127 – Cinder sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life.  The operation will take place Thursday, September 2 and Friday, September 3.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway.  Drivers should lower their speeds through the area.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O bridge over Little Shaver Creek, approximately a half mile south of Route HH Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during construction.  Traffic on Route O is being detoured around the work area on Routes HH, 135 and 50.  This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
